The Canadian Hydrological Model Stewardship program
The Canadian Hydrological Model Stewardship (CHyMS) program is an initiative to preserve and advance Canadian hydrological modelling capability and intellectual property while reducing operational risk.
CHyMS currently offers a number of services for hydrological models including a ticketing system with a newly developed message board (i.e. Kanban) to help manage and assure the quality of model development, a multi-party work prioritizer for models with several development paths, and a model versioning system to both enable model experimentation and to provide a stable core model that can be referenced for years to come by operational users. The CHyMS server has a fully automated backup system in place and provides access to models via a secure account and password system over an encrypted communication channel.
There are currently a wide variety of models that are hosted on CHyMS including: Raven, MESH, WATFLOOD, HBV-EC, and WDPM.
