CWRA National Mid-Term Workshop

Topic: Canada Water Agency – Facilitating Collaboration on Freshwater Coordination and Stewardship

We invite you to join us for an in-person workshop in Ottawa to explore a variety of topics related to moving forward on freshwater coordination and stewardship. In anticipation that an announcement will be made prior to this workshop regarding the Government of Canada’s commitment to establish a Canada Water Agency, we plan to focus on the following areas of discussion:

  • Keynote address on the Government of Canada’s commitment to establish a Canada Water Agency;
  • Federal, local and Indigenous perspectives on freshwater science and data stewardship;
  • Updates on freshwater-related policies and strategies, including research on the Flood Hazard Identification and Mapping Program and Freshwater Data Strategy Framework;
  • Panel discussion on modernization of the Canada Water Act

  • This event will be held in person. It is suggested that attendees wear masks indoors at this event. Any other COVID measures will follow local health guidance.
  • Light breakfast, Lunch, and Coffee Breaks will be provided.
  • Registration refunds are available with a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice. No refund will be provided with less than 2 weeks’ notice (After Jan. 12th). If the event is cancelled by the organizers, a full refund will be provided.
  • The event organizers may take photos at the event that will be shared on social media.
  • Registration is open to all water resource professionals, students, Indigenous people and members of the public.
