About:
The City of Winnipeg’s largest sewage treatment plant, the North End Sewage Treatment Plant, is one of the oldest in Canada. Built in 1937 it is currently amidst a major capital upgrade to replace aging assets and meet new regulatory requirements. The upgrade is being conducted as three distinct projects; the first of which is currently in active construction. This presentation will highlight the key upgrade requirements to meet the City’s Environment Act Licence as well as the construction aspects of the first project, Power Supply and Headworks Facilities, including the challenging deep foundation work.
