~1:00 PM CT: Manitoba Branch AGM

CWRA MB Members do not need to pay to attend only the AGM. For more information on attending the AGM only, please sign into the Members website and visit the MB Branch section.

During the AGM, the Branch will present an update of their activities and financial position, and new board members will be elected. This is a good time to hear about what the branch is up to, it’s plans for the new year, and to find out about ways to get more involved in Manitoba Branch activities. Members are encouraged to attend.

Talk Description

With Manitoba’s agricultural landscape rapidly changing as a result of wetland drainage, one method to minimize the impacts on downstream flows and nutrient run off is wetland restoration. Organizations like Ducks Unlimited Canada (DUC), with 84 years of experience, have been refining and utilizing wetland restoration techniques to restore prairie pothole wetlands in Manitoba and across the prairies.

With the majority of wetland drainage occurring on privately owned lands, DUC provides a variety of different programs that work directly with landowners to achieve their wetland restoration objectives in the agricultural working landscapes of Manitoba. This presentation will provide an overview and update of DUC’s activities related to wetland restoration in Southwest Manitoba.

CWRA’s Manitoba Branch’s Annual General Meeting, which is open to the general public, will be held virtually following this presentation.
