May 25, 2022 1:00-2:00 PM ET: NRCan Webinar: Implementation of the New Canadian Hydrospatial Network

 In Archived Event, Archived Online

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is undertaking the creation of a new Canadian hydrospatial network offering a greater potential for hydrological analysis. Based on the Open Geopsatial Consortium (OGC) Hy_feature conceptual model, this network will benefit from the integration of catchments, which are in great demand by the expert community. The new network will be accessible by download, but also through an API and an analysis ready web application. NRCan is looking forward to using innovative methods and high resolution data to derive the network, but also hopes to continue working with the Provinces and Territories to use the provincial water networks as valuable ongoing sources. This will better address the need for national scale analyses and the growing water and cumulative effect challenges.
