About Our Scholarships

The Canadian Water Resources Association annually offers five scholarships awarded to graduate students whose programs of study focus on applied, natural, or social science aspects of water resources. The scholarship recipients receive a one-year membership for the Canadian Water Resources Association. Past winners are outlined in the Resources section of the website.

Scholarship Applications are now open for 2020.

The application deadline for the 2020 CWRA Scholarships is January 31, 2020. Please follow the steps below to submit your application for review.

  1. Ensure you have your applications form and any supporting documents ready for loading. Please see this link for application requirements in English, and this link for application requirements in French.
  2. Register for an account on the Scholarship Application System in the form below. This username and password will not be the same as your other logins to the CWRA site for memberships, previous conferences, or previous scholarship applications.
  3. If you do not receive an email, or the email indicates that your registration needs to be approved, please let us know at info@cwra.org.
  4. Login to the Scholarships Application System using the credentials you have registered with.
  5. Fill in the mandatory information as requested and attach any documents that are required.  A detailed description of your application is not required on this page.

Scholarship Overview

Dillon Consulting Scholarship   $5000

This premier scholarship will be awarded to the highest ranked of all applicants. Funding is provided by Dillon Consulting Limited on an annual basis.

Canadian Water Resources Association

Harker/Cameron – Women in Water Scholarship – $2000

Awarded to the highest ranked female applicant whom has not already been awarded a higher scholarship. This scholarship is presented to recognize the ongoing legacy of Jennifer Harker and Valerie Cameron.

       Rick Ross Scholarship         $2000

Awarded to the highest ranked of all applicants whom has not already been awarded a higher scholarship. This scholarship is presented to recognize the ongoing legacy of Rick Ross.

Ken Thompson Scholarship  $2000

Awarded to the highest ranked of all applicants whom has not already been awarded a higher scholarship. This scholarship is presented to honour the legacy of the late Ken Thomson.

        Memorial Scholarship        $1500

Awarded to the highest ranked of all applicants whom has not already been awarded a higher scholarship. This scholarship represents a tribute to CWRA Members by their colleagues’ donations.

Make a donation to support the CWRA scholarship program. A charitable tax receipt is provided for all donations to the CWRA of $15 or more.
