CWRA Ontario is excited to announce our first Virtual Book Club selection: Dammed: The Politics of Loss and Survival in Anishinaabe Territory by Brittany Luby. This thought-provoking book explores Canada’s hydroelectric boom in the Lake of the Woods area and its profound impacts on Indigenous communities along the Winnipeg River.

Through detailed research and personal insight, Dammed reveals how hydroelectric development disproportionately benefited settler populations while devastating the lands, livelihoods, and rights of the Anishinabeg.
