À propos :

With great excitement and enthusiasm, we invite our colleagues from across Canada and around the world to join us for the 2026 Environmental Flows Conference. The Conference will take place October 7–9, 2026, in Kelowna, British Columbia, within the traditional, ancestral, and unceded tm̓xʷúlaʔxʷ territory of the Syilx Okanagan people. We gather in the Okanagan Valley, a landscape shaped by rivers, lakes, and interconnected ecosystems, where the siwłkʷ (water) that flows through the valley connects communities, cultures, and all living beings.

The theme for the Conference is siwłkʷ: Water for All – Our Responsibility. Water is the foundation of life, sustaining ecosystems, communities, and generations past, present, and future. Environmental flows reflect the vital connections between water, land, people, and the species that depend on healthy aquatic systems. This theme recognizes that responsible water stewardship requires collaboration, respect for Indigenous knowledge systems, scientific understanding, and collective action to protect the ecological processes that sustain our rivers and watersheds.

The technical program will bring together researchers, water managers, Indigenous knowledge holders, practitioners, and policymakers to explore the science, policy, and practice of environmental flows. Sessions and workshops will highlight innovative approaches to managing water resources in a changing climate, integrating diverse knowledge systems, advancing sustainable water management, and building partnerships that support resilient and healthy river systems for future generations.
