Indigenous Partner Membership
Membership Benefits
At CWRA we are committed to enhancing and building strong relationships with Indigenous Nations, communities, and organizations. One way we are working on this is through the new Indigenous Partner Membership category. Indigenous Nations, bands, communities, groups, governments, and other not-for-profit Indigenous-led groups or organizations working in water may join CWRA through this membership category at no cost. We intend for this definition of Indigenous partner to be expansive. Note that primarily for-profit companies and businesses, even when Indigenous-led, are currently not considered eligible for this membership category but are encouraged to consider another membership category.
- There is no cost to the membership, and it will renew annually as long as desired.
- Indigenous Partners may designate up to 15 people at a time (of their members or employees, whether Indigenous or not) to receive ongoing CWRA membership benefits.
- Benefits can also include membership in any or all of the CWRA affiliates: the Canadian Society of Hydrological Sciences (CSHS), the Canadian National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage (CANCID), and the North American Stream Hydrographers (NASH).
- Indigenous Partners may register up to 15 of their members or employees at member rates for any event, including training, webinars, workshops, and conferences.
- This Membership category includes unlimited free job postings on CWRA’s Job Board.
- The Indigenous Partner’s name and logo will be posted on the CWRA website with other Indigenous Partners.
- CWRA Membership includes the opportunity to participate in the National Mentoring Program as a mentor or mentee.
- CWRA Membership includes access to our Members Webinar Archive, the full content of our peer-reviewed Canadian Water Resources Journal (CWRJ), and all issues of our magazine Water News.
