Come and learn about how the creek and its urban watershed are being restored following the vision and goals laid out in the Bowker Creek Blueprint – a 100 year action plan to restore this urban watershed.

Tour led by Kitty Lloyd. Kitty has been the Bowker Creek Initiative (BCI) coordinator since 2017, and has also coordinated two other community-based stewardship initiatives (Gorge Waterway Initiative and the Esquimalt Lagoon Stewardship Initiative) for the past 8 years. The BCI is made up of representatives from the 3 municipalities that the creek flows through (Victoria, Saanich, Oak Bay), University of Victoria and community associations that represent the neighbourhoods in the watershed.

Kitty’s background is marine biology and public education but she also has a passion for ecological restoration and gardening with native plants. These skills were useful in helping to complete the Bowker Creek restoration project at the Oak Bay High School over the past 2 years. Come and learn about how the creek and its urban watershed are being restored following the vision and goals laid out in the Bowker Creek Blueprint – a 100 year action plan to restore this urban watershed.
