Presentation: Redesign and Rehabilitation of the Churchill Weir Fish Passage Systems

Description:

The Churchill Weir was constructed in 1999 to mitigate impacts associated with the Churchill River Diversion near the Town of Churchill. In 2017 a record flow event caused substantial damage to the weir and its supporting infrastructure necessitating major rehabilitation.  This presentation provides an overview of the 20+ years of lessons learned operating, monitoring, and maintaining the Churchill Weir and the hydraulic and biological considerations that were used to facilitate the redesign and rehabilitation of the associated fish passage components.
