May 27-29, 2025: CWRA 2025 Student Design Competition (SDC)

Location: Penticton, BC
Participants will tackle a real-world water problem, working in teams to develop innovative solutions. The aim of the competition is to promote practical problem-solving skills, teamwork, and professional development among students from various regions across Canada. This competition encourages students to apply their academic knowledge to practical, real-world challenges, fostering creativity and collaboration.

Only one team will be selected as the winner, and they will be invited to present at the 78th CWRA National Conference in Penticton, BC in May 2025.
Eligibility
- Participants must be full-time registered undergraduate students at a recognized university or institute.
- Teams can represent their respective universities or institutes.
- Each team can have a maximum of five members.
- Each university or institute can register multiple teams, but each team must work independently.
- Each team member must be a student member of CWRA. (Student memberships are free!)
Registration and Timeline
- Registration starts: Early September 2024
- Registration deadline: Oct 31, 2024
- Project overview and PCSWMM presentation (AE and CHI): Early-mid November 2024
- Hard copy of presentation due: Mar 20, 2025
- Virtual presentation: Apr 1, 2025
- Announcement of the winning team to attend the national conference: Apr 5, 2025
- Winning team will present at the 78th CWRA national conference, May 27-29, 2025
