Oct 15-16, 2025: CSHS/QC Workshop on process-based approaches to stream temperature modelling

In Upcoming CSHS, Upcoming Event, Upcoming QC, Upcoming Workshops

When: October 15-16, 2025, 8:30am-4:30pm

Where: Université du Québec en Outaouais

Description:

The workshop on process-based approaches to stream temperature modelling aims to bring together a diverse group of researchers and practitioners working with process-based approaches to stream temperature modelling, including model developers, model users or users of knowledge derived from models.

The primary objective of the workshop is to facilitate discussions on emerging challenges, recent advances, and future directions in the field. Unlike more traditional conferences focused on individual presentations, this workshop is centered around active participation, plenary discussions and problem solving around shared issues. The end goal of the workshop is to produce a co-authored paper that summarizes the key themes and insights that arise from exchanges, helping define a research agenda for the following years.

Over the two days of the workshop, participants will engage in structured sessions focused on three core themes:

Theme 1 ‒ Heat exchange processes and model parameterization

Theme 2 ‒ Shared problems in model implementation

Theme 3 ‒ Emerging challenges and opportunities

These themes were identified by the scientific committee: Audrey Maheu (Université du Québec en Outaouais), André St-Hilaire (Institut national de la recherche scientifique), Jason Leach (Natural Resources Canada), James Craig (University of Waterloo), Dan Moore (University of British Columbia), and Andras Szeitz (McMaster University).

Lunch and coffee breaks will be provided at the event. If this event is canceled by the organizers, a full refund will be issued. If you need to refund or transfer your registration, please email audrey.maheu@uqo.ca. No refunds will be available within the week leading up to the event.
