Title of Presentation: Rating Model Development at the Water Survey of Canada
Description: A major update to Aquarius Time Series, the software used by the Water Survey of Canada for data production and validation, provided an opportunity to redevelop training for rating model development. This presentation offers an overview of the training staff receive, including background theory and practical exercises. Non-standard methods, outside the scope of the training, are discussed for stations that provide challenging modelling conditions.
Bio: ottO works for the National Hydrologic Service within Environment and Climate Change Canada. ottO began his career with the NHS as a Hydrometric Technologist in North Bay, Ontario, and spent eight years operating hydrometric stations. In 2021, ottO transferred to the National Operations Support (NOS) team where he developed and updated Standard Operating Procedures and supported operational activities with guidance on methods and technologies.
