Title: Atlantic Branch 2024 AGM & Webinar
Time: Wed, Oct 30, 2024, 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM ADT
Location: Hybrid, In person and available though Zoom
About the event:

The CWRA Atlantic Branch is holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) October 30, 2024 from 12:00 – 13:30 ADT. This will be a hybrid event with the option to attend online (registration link to follow) or in-person at the Halifax Central Library (3rd floor – Room 301). Everyone is welcome to attend the AGM, and it is a nice opportunity to meet the Branch Directors, hear about Atlantic Branch activities, and learn about opportunities to become involved in our growing branch.

Preceding the AGM, the Atlantic Branch is excited to present a free webinar from 12:00 – 13:00 ADT with presentations from the following:

  • Sarah Rombaut, Fisheries and Oceans Canada – “Designing Watercourse Crossings for Fish Passage – Embedded Culverts”
  • Mark Greenwood, Environment and Climate Change Canada – “Nova Scotia’s hydrometric network – adding stations supported by NS’s Climate Action Plan

We invite our members to consider nominating themselves for the Executive Committee positions within the branch by emailing atlantic@cwra.org (role descriptions are provided here):

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer

These roles are essential in shaping the direction of the Branch and ensuring its continued success. CWRA Members in NB, NS, NL, and PEI may vote during the AGM – we would encourage all who can make it to attend!

If you are interested in nominating or have any questions about the Branch or the roles, please reach out to atlantic@cwra.org.
