Call for Papers is OPEN!


The Alberta Branch of the Canadian Water Resources Association (CWRA) is hosting an annual conference to promote the collaboration and sharing of research and information among professionals working on water-related topics.

The conference aims to explore a variety of themes that are of interest to academics, consultants, government representatives, Indigenous organizations, and other stakeholders involved in water resource management, decision-making, and research in Alberta.

The CWRA encourages and values the participation of Indigenous nations and organizations, and is particularly interested in topics related to Indigenous water rights, stewardship, and knowledge.

The Alberta Branch of the CWRA is issuing this call for abstracts and workshops for the 2023 conference in Calgary focusing on challenges facing Alberta’s water resources in a changing world.

The 2023 conference is welcoming presentations that include, but are not limited to the following themes:

  • Agriculture, Irrigation and Drainage
  • Flood and Drought Mitigation
  • Water Governance
  • Urban Hydrology and Stormwater Management
  • Groundwater
  • Water Quality
  • Nature-Based Solutions
  • Remote Sensing
  • Indigenous Water Rights, Stewardship, and Knowledge
  • Cold Regions Hydrology
  • Statistical Hydrology

Abstracts must be no more than 250 words,

The deadline for submission is February 3, 2023.
