Position Available: Water Resource Analyst
Location: Cambridge, Ontario
About:
The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) manages the natural resources of the largest inland river system in southern Ontario. The organization is seeking a Temporary Full Time Bargaining Unit Water Resource Analyst to report to the Supervisor of Water Quality. The successful candidate will contribute to the Grand River Water Management Plan (WMP) update, which focuses on ensuring sustainable water supplies, improving water quality, reducing flood damage potential, and enhancing climate resilience.
Primary duties include:

Analyze and report on hydrology, climate, water quality, and resource management data for the WMP

Compile and organize hydrologic, climate, and water quality data into databases and management platforms (e.g., WISKI, Excel)

Characterize watershed conditions and issues, including trends in climate, chemical/physical water quality, and streamflow, using statistical and mapping tools

Document analytical findings in technical reports, plain-language summaries, and presentations

Conduct literature review and report on topics such as the impacts of climate change on riverine systems

Utilize knowledge and experience in spreadsheets, relational databases (WISKI), and statistical software packages (e.g., R)

Position Available: Source Water Hydrogeologist
Location: Cambridge, Ontario
About:
The Grand River Conservation Authority (GRCA) is seeking a Source Water Hydrogeologist to support the Lake Erie Source Protection Region under Ontario’s Clean Water Act, 2006. This role applies hydrogeological expertise to coordinate technical studies, support assessment report and plan updates, and contribute to groundwater protection strategies. Reporting to the Source Protection Program Manager, the position supports collaboration across conservation authorities, municipalities, and provincial partners.
Primary duties include:
• Facilitate and coordinate technical studies with stakeholders for source protection planning.
• Review technical reports and prepare notices under the Clean Water Act.
• Support updates to assessment reports, including vulnerability scoring and climate assessments.
• Contribute to technical reports and presentations for the Source Protection Committee.
• Manage data sets, models, and provide project management for wellhead protection studies.
• Assist with public consultation and outreach activities.
