Flood Modelling, Mapping & Management: The Cornerstones of Flood Safety and Management in Ontario

 In Archived Workshops

March 5 – 6, 2019  Flooding is the leading cause of emergency declaration in Ontario and one of the costliest types of natural hazard throughout the country.  Reducing the impact of floods requires foundational information to help prevent, prepare for and respond to these disasters.  From advanced base data acquisition and complex simulations of flood behaviour to the creation of flood mapping products and their use in land use planning and emergency response, this workshop will explore the latest applications in flood management from across Canada.  Please join us for two days of informative conversation and knowledge transfer that will share valuable lessons for building a safe, flood-resilient Ontario. It will transfer knowledge learned from a series of projects to MNRF, CA’s, municipal, academia and private sector water resource professionals.
